Choosing the right wood floor for your living room
Your living room is the most frequented room in your home; it’s where we walk the most and entertain the most. Therefore, choosing the right wood floor is essential for long-term investment while warmly decorating your interior. We’ll explain everything.
Like for all other rooms in the house, there are two types of wood floor to install in your living room:
Solid wood floor
A solid wood floor is the quintessential traditional choice. Composed of a single thick layer of noble wood essence, it is the most robust wood floor. Thanks to its thick layer of wood, it can be sanded many times. Its lifespan is almost infinite!
Engineered wood floor
An engineered wood floor is also a great option. Thanks to its assembly of three layers of wood (veneer, core, and backing) which balance tension in the wood, engineered wood floors are perfectly suited to living spaces. We recommend prioritizing a wood floor with a minimum usage class of 23, which is the case for all our engineered wood floors.
Which finish to choose?
Whether oiled or lacquered, our finishes are perfectly suited to all living rooms. They are tested in our laboratory for their resistance to abrasion, household products, etc. It is also possible to choose a High Traffic lacquered wood floor for even more resistance. It is particularly recommended for shops, restaurants, or public places.
Why choose wood for your living room floor?
Wood floors provide great warmth and suit to all living room styles. Wood offers real thermal comfort because its contact is never cold to the touch, unlike other coverings such as tiles or polished concrete.
Different styles of wood floor
Natural wood floors
Natural wood floors are very popular these days! In addition to respecting your wood species, choosing a natural wood floor makes your dining room interior more modern.
