How long should you wait after installing a wood floor?
After installing your wood floor, whether it is solid or engineered, we strongly recommend that you allow it to settle for at least 48 hours. This waiting period allows your wood floor to acclimatize to the room’s environment.
To ensure natural and smooth expansion of your wood floor, there are a few important rules to follow before, during, and after installation. Firstly, make sure you store the packs in the room where the wood floor will be installed without unpacking them and without placing them directly on the floor. This way, the wood can acclimatize to the humidity and temperature. Secondly, it is essential to place expansion spacers around the perimeter of the room to create expansion gaps. Thirdly, after installing your wood floor, wait 48 hours before replacing your furniture to allow the wood floor to move freely in the room without getting damaged!

Why does wood expand?
Wood is a natural material that remains alive and reacts to the humidity and temperature of your rooms. This is why we recommend maintaining air humidity between 40 and 60% and a temperature between 15 and 25°C.
