The revised NF B53-669 standard of June 2023 incorporates the principle of classification of use after finishing, based on various tests such as abrasion, scratching and varnish adhesion. In this context, all Panaget oak and beech wood flooring are class 31 in domestic varnish and class 34 in High Traffic varnish. These classes define the following recommended maximum uses:
Of course, your floor will only last if it is properly maintained.
As wood flooring is one of the few floor coverings that can be renovated, the top layer, known as the wear layer, allows the floor to be sanded and
extends its life. Each renovation (sanding and application of a f inishing system adapted to the use) maintains the suitability for a further use cycle.
The greater the thickness of the top layer, the greater the number of possible renovations.
